Before now...

After almost 4 years of working in an IT company, I decided to take a break in my career. Pursuing Masters in abroad was always on top of my Bucket-list. While working as a Project management officer in StepsOnWeb Consultancy service, I managed many projects related to digital marketing. An inclination towards Digital Marketing started from there.

Why Digital Marketing

With how internet connects this fast-paced world, the way people purchase a product changed considerably – which means offline marketing will have significantly less effect. Also, with fact that post Covid era business demands making a connection to the right audience at right time, Digital Marketing will have a key role to play.

Why I chose Salford University

Studying in a different country is a big leap for me which I know that will be helpful, not only in my professional career but also for my personal development as each country has a different type of education system and culture which has a lot of things to offer. I choose university of Salford because only few universities provide master’s in digital marketing and at the same time the course syllabus offered by University of Salford is outstanding as it is more of a practical/job oriented one. On top of that Salford is close to the town Centre of Manchester, which is now booming as a popular spot for digital sectors offering great opportunities for growth and innovation

MSc Digital marketing at the University of Salford is a one-year programme which is divided in to 5 modules.

How my time at the University prepares me to become a Digital Marketer?

Digitalmarketer

Salford business school has already done a great job in training me on all the different skills and techniques that are essential for building up a successful Career in Digital marketing. Some of them are as follows:

  • SEO

  • PPC

  • Google Analytics

  • Keyword Analysis

Ubersuggest is a great learning I had at Salford. Ubersuggest was created by Neil Patel and if you would like to read more about it, give his website a visit by clicking on the hyperlink. But ideally the best way to get started is by reading the book written by Heinz et at, 2017 a read Digital and Social Media Marketing: A results-Driven Approach.

Google analytics is a great tool to track user’s activity and how they interact on your website/blog. But that’s not all, Google offers many other great tools.

As a part of curriculum, I have used SEMRUSH to analyze keywords, Followed few key influencers like Neil Patel , analyzed the job market to eventually conduct a SWOT analysis and have taken a first step in building my Personal brand online by writing this post.

Watch this space for more interesting learning updates as I progress through the course. I am sure that I will be regularly posting them as it is getting more interesting as I go forward 😊
